Construction Management
Interstate 64

ProjectDescription

Interstate 64 St. Louis Missouri
Shalom Services performed Construction Inspection of bridges (concrete and steel girder), drainage structures, sound walls, MSE walls, concrete and asphalt pavement, earthwork, storm sewers, along with the testing of excavation, asphalt and concrete (compaction, gradation, uniformity of mix, slumps/plasticity, air, strength, batching/mixing inspection, water cement ratio, aggregate quality, rebar placement, smoothness/tolerance).

Shalom Services also performed hydrology and hydraulic analysis of pipes, ditches, and channels on the roads and highway. Designed the drainage plans for the streets and highway using Inroads and Microstation software which included the design for culverts and detention ponds on various locations along the highway.

During the project design, Shalom collected traffic data on the arterial roads that served the highway. The construction of I-64 had expected an increase traffic burden to the arterial roads as a result of closure of the highway. We used the traffic data on these arterial roads, graphed and analyzed data for monthly reports to Missouri Department of Transportation and other stake holders on the project.

The project was completed in 2010 and won many awards for a full Design / Build Project.
